The video background feature allows users to add video content as a background for the entire slideshow or individual slides.
Videos can only be added via a YouTube or Vimeo URL.
Adding Video to Slideshow Background:
The video is applied to all slides and plays independently of the slides. When the video plays, the slides transition as they would in the normal slideshow mode.
- Select the Settings tab.
- Select the Choose Video button.
- Configure the video settings:
- Video background - enables the video as the background for the entire slideshow.
- Insert the YouTube or Vimeo video URL.
- Resize - adjust the video aspect ratio (1:1, 16:9, 9:16, 4:3, 3:2) and frame size. This can be set separately for mobile and desktop views.
The aspect ratio is the width-to-height ratio of your video, determining its overall shape and how it fits within the frame. - Player Size Mode - Defines how the video will be displayed in the slideshow based on the selected size settings.
- Player - Cropping the video will be unavailable, but all video controls will remain functional within the slideshow.
- Resizable - You can crop the video as desired. Note that some issues may occur in full-width mode.
- SEO Text - add a title for the video that is similar to the image alt text.
- Playback mode - choose how the video should play:
- Autoplay Loop - the video starts playing automatically when the site loads and loops continuously.
- Play on Click - the slideshow and video start playing when the Play button on the first slide is clicked. After the slides finish playing, the video stops and returns to the first slide.
- The "Play" button is a separate element that appears only in this mode. Its settings are duplicated as for a regular button.
- Slideshow Mode settings are not available (Settings -> Animations -> Animation for slide)
- Slides Shuffle settings are not available
- Pause on hover settings are not available
- Hide playback controls - hides the video playback controls (e.g., sound, speed, quality). If enabled, the video sound cannot be turned on.
In the slide editor, the following settings are available:
- Overlay color - add a color overlay over the video (solid or gradient with up to 5 colors).
- Animations - animations affect the overlay color. If no overlay is set, animations will not be visible.
Adding Video to Individual Slide Background:
When we enable the video, the slider pauses.
When the video ends or is paused, the slider resumes playback.
If the user manually switches the slide, the video is forcibly paused.
- Go to Edit Slide.
- Select the Background tab
- Configure the video settings:
- Video background - enables the video as the background for the slide.
- Insert the YouTube or Vimeo video URL.
- Resize - adjust the video aspect ratio and frame size. This can be set separately for mobile and desktop views.

- Resizable - You can crop the video as desired. Note that some issues may occur in full-width mode.
- Video Play Behavior - set how the video plays when the page loads:
Click to play - the video plays only when the Play button is clicked.
! Vimeo videos won't play without clicking the Play button, whether it's a custom or built-in button.
- Add Custom Play Button - add a custom play button that users can click to start the video. The button functions just like a regular play button and is available for both YouTube and Vimeo.
- Autoplay - the video starts playing automatically when the page loads.
- Hide playback controls - hides the video playback controls.
- YouTube does not hide the central Play button. This is a technical limitation that we cannot influence. The video can play when you click on the video itself rather than the Play button.
- Vimeo hides all buttons, and the video may not play when clicked without a custom or built-in button.
- Background iframe - configures the video background.
- Image - place an image under the video.
- Color - fill the background under the video with a solid color.
The background may look black in the slide editor, but it will display correctly on the website editor.
- Overlay color - add a color overlay over the video (solid or gradient with up to 5 colors).
- Animations - affect the video as well, but during the animation playback, the video is completely replaced by the background set by the user.
Important Notes:
- Videos cannot be added through the wizard tool.
- The video does not support the Disable right click and Background transparency settings.
- The "Slide Click Action" function becomes unavailable when the video is enabled.
- The slide editor has a Play/Pause Video button that pauses the video without affecting the selected mode. It is added for convenient slide editing so that the background does not distract.
- YouTube: When both "Hide Playback Controls" and "Add Custom Play Button" are enabled, two buttons will be displayed: our custom button and YouTube’s default Play button. This is a technical limitation that we cannot influence.
- Videos on Vimeo will not play unless the Play button is clicked, whether it's our custom button or the built-in Vimeo button in Click to Play mode
