Wix Multilingual Support helps your site work correctly in multiple languages when using the Wix Multilingual app.
What it does
This feature redirects users to the translated version of the page when they switch languages on your site. It also makes multilingual setup easier by removing the need to duplicate pages manually.
How to Set It Up
Select languages in the Wix Multilingual app.
Turn on Wix Multilingual Support in our app.
Choose the same languages in our app that you selected in Wix Multilingual.
-
For each language:
Go to Page Settings
Choose which pages should be shown in that language
Manually enter translated names for each page
(Optional) Enable a locale if needed (e.g., for
en-USvsen-GB)
How It Works
When a user changes the language, the app redirects them to the correct translated version of the page.
Each language opens as a separate page — this is a technical limitation from Wix.
With this feature, you don’t need to duplicate pages. Just connect the translations to the original page.
Page names must be translated manually — Wix doesn’t rename them automatically.
URL Structure (Important)
Make sure the URL structure (e.g. /en, /fr) in our app matches the one in Wix Multilingual settings.
If they don’t match, users may see errors when switching languages.
To check this:
Go to Wix Multilingual App → Settings → URL Structure
Locale (Optional)
Use locale if you have the same language for different countries (e.g. English for US and UK).
To check:
Go to Wix Multilingual App → Manage Languages
If the codes include country info (like
en-US), locale is being used — enable it in our app as well.
